Pursuit Perfect System’s Reference 2 Video Review

I wasn’t sure if they would be too big for my room from a bass output point of view, and I was expecting to work around this. But that was not the case at all. Which maybe shows how well the port system works.
I enjoy the sound of larger speakers more, they can sound very big in terms of their overall scale and they do this effortlessly.
They sound solid, everything you listen to sounds rock solid across the whole soundstage. It makes instruments sound more authentic. I could easily hear where they spread the sound across the room and it was very smooth and even. I tried to listen for how the sound changed and it didn’t change at all. That is important if you like to sit and listen to music with somebody else.
The Reference 2 are my kind of speaker they are big and full and smooth in their bass delivery. So it’s always pleasing, nice flowing bass and never a mechanical sound. And there is plenty of bass at lower volume too.
They Reference 2 sound big and forward and solid and have great impact. They are also fast and nimble for fingers on strings if the amplifier is up to the task of being fast enough to deliver that.
The vocals sounded just fantastic for being clear and palpable; reach out and touch them with such a nice organic character for male and female vocals across all music styles. It had me deep into the listening for three consecutive days and only great speakers can do that to me.
The treble was fantastic too for being clear and detailed and fast – with fantastic trails and decays. But overall there was a nice mix of some treble spice but also some sugar. So the highs were very pleasing but with an authenticity about them and always smooth.
It was bloody good sounding overall, very full, very warm, rich, clean and very dynamic.
I am going to miss these Canton speakers when they go because they have not been anything I expected them to be. I think you can tell they are a speaker with a lot of engineering put into them but engineering with a heart. It means they are a speaker that has a bit of a soul, very easy to listen to, very easy to set up, very flexible with the system you put in front of them, they scale, they level up.
You appreciate them for being very very very enjoyable speakers to listen to always. Definitely some of my favorite speakers I have reviewed.
