Orpheus Lab, Peak Consult and Jadis at Axpona 2026 **

At AXPONA 2026 Bluebird Music presented a system featuring Peak Consult loudspeakers with Orpheus Lab electronics—an approach focused not on isolated strengths, but on delivering a complete and convincing musical experience.

For those who spent time in the room, the impression was consistent: natural tonal balance, convincing weight and presence, and a sense that the system simply stepped out of the way of the music. One comment came up repeatedly: “Digital? Sounds analog.”

Peak Consult loudspeakers provides physical presence, coherence, and spatial depth, while Orpheus Lab adds clarity, speed, and control, delivering high resolution without artificial emphasis. Together, they create natural tone, seamless integration, and deep immersion—achieving a rare balance where detail, dynamics, and musical flow coexist, producing the illusion of live music in the room.

Powering the Peak Consult Sonora loudspeakers was a full stack of Orpheus Lab Absolute Line electronics, including the A Two 22D preamplifier, the A Three S200 stereo amplifier, and the A Zero PS SACD player. The system was wired with Kubala-Sosna Realization cable system.

Thanks to Mike Picanza from Peak Consult, Tiago Novo from Orpheus Lab, and Gregg Kubala from Kubala-Sosna for their assistance with the presentation.

This was an elegant system in sight and sound and my ears delighted in its surprising 'where’s the subwoofer' fullrange reach and authority coming from a modestly-sized two-way (albeit one that weighs nearly 150 lbs which tells you something about what's going on inside).

Michael Lavorgna, Twittering Machines, Axpona 2026 Favorite Rooms

The pairing of the Peak Sonora with Orpheus Lab electronics stands out as one of the most exceptional combinations I've ever presented. Its ability to handle both classical and rock with refinement, authority, and genuine musicality surpassed many far larger and more exotic systems. This sentiment was echoed by virtually every visitor to the room.

Mike Picanza, Head of Sales & Marketing at Peak Consult

What I heard was refined and had great tonal density. Digital? Sounds analog, The Peak/Orpheus pairing leaned toward a natural tonality that prioritized musical flow over technical fireworks. The system handled both delicate classical and rowdy rock very well. It revealed tight, generous bass and brash juicy horns.

Charlie Schnyder, owner of St. Louis area Jadis dealer Stereo Haven, and Mike Pranka of Toffco, were making wonderful music again – as usual, in room 624 at Axpona. The influence of Jadis was evident on this system. When playing Neil Young on vinyl, the sound was authentic, natural and expressive.
